Verse 1
Its dark when I go to work
Its dark when I go home
My day is spent in darkness
No other life do I know

Everyday spent in coal dust
I breathe it in my lungs
Its not the life I choose
But my family has just begun

I know coal is dying
Its bad for the globe
Government wont help us
For me there is no hope
Verse 4
We know one day we will close
And the mine will shut down
We know coal is toxic
And should be left in the ground

My community will die
My family will starve
Governments shortsightedness
Means to coal we are enslaved

We could vote this mob out
But the others just as bad
All driven by greed
And the fossil fuel fast cats
