Puffs Of White

Verse 1

Little puffs of white

Glisten in the sun

The morning light

And red sand stun

Verse 2

Tourists marvel

At this beautiful sight

Unknowing of

The hidden blight

Chorus

Our inland waterways

Once pristine and clear

Overseen by first nations

For thousands of years

They now sit stagnant

Destroyed by greed

Protected by governments

Who fill their needs

Verse 3

Planted on

Our driest lands

Vast fields of cotton

Now stand

Verse 4

Bulldozers dig

Create huge dams

Form massive channels

And flood the plains

Chorus

Our inland waterways

Once pristine and clear

Overseen by first nations

For thousands of years

They now sit stagnant

Destroyed by greed

Protected by governments

Who fill their needs

Verse 5

Water pulled

Destroys the rivers

Kills the environment

Decimates wildlife

Verse 6

All for a few

Whose greed holds no bounds

These disgusting men

And their government hounds

Chorus

Our inland waterways

Once pristine and clear

Overseen by first nations

For thousands of years

They now sit stagnant

Destroyed by greed

Protected by governments

Who fill their needs
