Gladiator
Verse 1
Gladiator stand waiting
He can hear crowds cheering
Beads of sweat on his brow
His anticipation building
His chiseled body covered
Protected with steel armor
Only a sword and shield
To defend his honor
Years of tough training
Brought him to this point
So many loyal supporters
To guide him in the fight
Verse 2
Gates open wide
He walks down the race
Crowd noise grows louder
And he quickens his pace
Gladiator steps into the light
Turning slowly around
His support is overwhelming
As he stands his ground
Standing in the arena
His chest puffed out
Clanging his killing tools
Proudly yelling out
Verse 3
Turning slowly to the gate
A hush falls over the crowd
The gate slowly lifts
A lion out it bounds
Two combatants face to face
Teeth bared in anger
Suddenly charged each other
Ignoring immanent danger
A massive battle then ensued
Blood and fur scattered
The gladiator emerged victor
Stood over the lion battered
Verse 4
Two combatants raised high
Carried from the arena
Lions body limp and bloodied
His fight for life finished
Gladiator stood and reflected
On the many battles had
How this lion called depression
Most of his life was around
Many years of training
And support of close friends
Had finally killed his foe
But is it really the end
