Cosmic Dust

Verse 1

Are we just dust

Part of the cosmic fabric

An arrangement of bits

Thrown together haphazard

Verse 2

An accident of design

That somehow works

Stuff bundled as one

With no real purpose

Verse 3

Rearrange the dust

We just stop

Life and death a fine line

Will end abrupt

Verse 4

Death returns our bodies

To cosmic dust

Ready to be rearranged

Once again to serve no purpose

Verse 5

If we do have a reason

The its not really obvious

Faith doesn’t explain it

Divine intervention oblivious

Verse 6

Theories of evolution

May enlighten us some

We started as simple clusters

Rearranging on the run

Verse 7

The greatest mystery being

Is what bonds the dust

Maybe the soul is the glue

For the cosmic fabric that is us
