Vultures Eye

Based on The Tell Tale Heart

By Edgar Allen Poe

Chorus

I loved the old man

His Gold No Desire

My blood runs cold

At his Vultures Eye

Verse 1

You fancy me mad

Madmen know nothing

How then am I mad

Being so cunning

Verse 2

I relish my work

Every midnight

For seven long eves

I lurked out of sight

Verse 3

My head thrust in

Through his darkest door

Thin slither of light

Vultures eye closed

Chorus

I loved the old man

His Gold No Desire

My blood runs cold

At his Vultures Eye

Verse 4

On the eighth night creeping

Much caution to bare

The old man cries out

“ Who is there “

Verse 5

A groan of mortal terror

Not of pain and grief

My lantern slightly open

On the Vultures Eye of death

Verse 6

To the beating of his heart

And my fury rising

Old mans hour had come

Deaths evil eye closing

Chorus

I loved the old man

His Gold No Desire

My blood runs cold

At his Vultures Eye

Verse 7

His body dismembered

Hidden in the floor

No madman could hide

The placement of the boards

Verse 8

A noise steadily rose

Accompanying the banging on the door

Sounds of loud screaming

Had lured the law

Verse 9

Tell Tale Heart beat loudly

Sound deafening from the floor

Pacing to and fro

I foamed, I raved, I swore

Verse 10

Villains I shrieked

Dissemble no more

I admit the deed

Into the boards they tore

Chorus

I loved the old man

His Gold No Desire

My blood runs cold

At his Vultures Eye
