Kookaburra stares
Unwavering and long
Needs are simple
Prey to keep him strong

Evolved in time
The perfect hunter
Takes only his needs
No need to plunder

The adder waits
Motionless and still
His needs are simple
To eat only his fill

Striking hard and fast
Death is quick
No unnecessary suffering
For his prey is it

From its hidden lair
Only when its hungry
It hopes to snare

One large prey
Is all it needs
Storing the carcass
For ongoing feeds

Stuffs and wastes
Greed fills his belly
To overflow from haste
