The Park
Verse 1
Old couples sitting in the park
Not a word said never apart
No need to talk
Just a smile and a wink
Years of loving harmony
Just needing to think
Verse 2
Old men playing chess in the park
Smiles tall stories lots of laughs
To win is not important
No counting of games played
Life long friends of note
Still meeting everyday
Verse 3
Old lady feeding pigeons in the park
Pigeons mill around her it warms her heart
The crumbs are spread
With passion and fun
Pigeons coo softly
As they appreciate her love
Verse 4
Young children playing in the park
All are fighting no fun in their hearts
Society has made them
Greedy angry and rude
Old people just stare
Disgusted with the truth
Verse 5
Watching society fail sitting at the park
My head hangs low sitting till dark
The example set
By our elders past
Lost on our youth
Hope fading fast
